Lincoln Moore's Saturday Preview

BEST BET: TOTALLY DISCREET (Race 3)

EACH-WAY: ECHO BOOMER (Race 9)

VALUE: SHEBRINGZIT (Race 5)

RACE 1 - 12:22PM Furphy Handicap (Heat 7 Rebel Raider Series) (1250 METRES)

KARACASU was impressive coming off the speed and racing away from rivals with a big weight first-up from a spell. He gets in well after the claim for a red-hot Ben Price and looks the one they have to beat. Stablemate SOMEWATT FABULOUS went around at big odds winning here on debut before going to Flemington where he was well backed when 3rd behind Celestial Fury. He looks the danger. TAVIKAT was a beaten favourite last time out and gets winkers from a good barrier. HOPON HARRY has ability and an inside draw.

SELECTIONS: 1. KARACASU, 3. Somewatt Fabulous, 5. Hopon Harry

RACE 2 - 12:57PM Zilzie Wines Handicap (1000 METRES)

Richard and Chantelle Jolly saddle up two chances here. ALL BANTER is an exciting type who is two from two at this track and trip, has trialled up nicely for her return and has Melbourne aspirations after this. She’s the top pick. DEXELATION is above average and was racing in super form in stronger races before a let-up. HUFFINGTON is chasing three on end and should be right in the thick of things from a good barrier. THOMPSON’S REWARD was good running on from the back behind Alleboom last week and STAR HILLS must be respected having won three of four this track and trip from an inside draw.

SELECTIONS: 2. ALL BANTER, 5. Huffington, 1. Dexelation

RACE 3 - 1:32PM Quayclean Maiden Plate (1000 METRES)

Phillip Stokes holds the key here with TOTALLY DISCREET who was solid in betting on debut at Listed level. She has trialled nicely ahead of her return and has been well backed since markets opened. SQUIZZY MIZZY is new to the Stokes stable and has ability. She won a recent a Morphettville trial. JOHNNY THUNDER is a former Victorian who was sent back to Cranbourne on debut for the Clarken stable when a beaten favourite. He’s trialled nicely and drawn perfectly. Stablemate ROYAL GISELLE had support at a price and ran OK behind Ultimate Addiction at Balaklava on debut. SPIRITUAL GAL has ability and must be given some thought first-up on the back of a nice jump-out. RODEO was OK on debut back in May but trialled up nicely for her return. SHOW NIGHT ran 2nd in that same trial and is on debut for the in-form Hickmott/Riggs team. RESIDUE is on debut for the Huxtable stable and has trialled OK and wears blinkers for the first time.

SELECTINS: 11. TOTALLY DISCREET, 1. Johnny Thunder, 10. Spiritual Gal

RACE 4 - 2:07PM Spring Racing Carnival at Morphettville - Oct. 9 - Nov 6 Handicap (1550 METRES)

ROBE BAY is a talented mare when she puts it together and has been placed at her two runs here. She was runner-up behind Pearl Bandit two starts back and looks a danger fresh. APACHE STAR is a progressive type chasing three wins on the bounce and should get his chance from an inside gate. EXALTED FIRE has been racing well and must be respected, likewise CROWN MINT who gets back out to the mile and MARINA draws out wide but is racing well at a price. DEELBRAKA draws a nice barrier.

SELECTIONS: 4. ROBE BAY, 6. Apache Star, 5. Exalted Fire

RACE 5 - 2:47PM Thomas Foods Handicap (Heat 1 Skybeau Series) (1950 METRES)

Good race. TINANDALI was solid here when 3rd behind All Hard Wood last time. He gets some weight relief here for Ben Price and maps well from barrier four. He can turn things around. SHEBRINGZIT is a promising mare who will thrive getting out in trip, she ran super in the Derby back in May running 4th behind Explosive Jack. She draws to get a good run and is nice each-way value. MELODY MAN was a good winner this track and trip two starts back before being run down after leading behind All Hard Wood last time. He draws out but has solid claims. WINGS OF PASTRAMI was placed twice in town before a handy run in the Balaklava Cup behind Winning Partner. Out in trip could be the key and she is more than capable on her best form. STAR STATUS was back to his best last time, but this looks a stronger race. ALL HARD WOOD is going well and got the job done last time but is up in the weights.

SELECTIONS: 1. TINANDALI, 8. Shebringzit, 2. Melody Man

RACE 6 - 3:27PM Terry Howe Printing Handicap (1400 METRES)

CELESTIAL ILLUSION is lightly raced with a win and four placings from his six starts. He was a winner on the here back in July and was game behind Hinchpin last time. He draws out but gets some weight relief with the claim. JAAMINT was runner-up behind Moscow Red here two starts back and then a big drifter behind Wild Imagination last time. She also gets in well after the claim and maps well from barrier four. LUCKY DOG comes to town on the back of two very good Oakbank wins. He’s found a very winnable race and must be given plenty of thought. COLD BEERS is a former Paul Preusker galloper now with David Jolly. She comes off a Casterton win and draws a nice barrier. GO BOO BOO has ability and is fitter for one run back for his new stable.

SELECTIONS: 1. CELESTIAL ILLUSION, 2. Jaamint, 3. Lucky Dog

RACE 7 - 4:07PM The Junction Handicap (1400 METRES)

Another good race. LORD VLADIVOSTOK resumes here and was super since coming to Australia winning four of his first eight starts. He was too good for Dr Drill in the RA Lee Stakes before a break and maps to get a good run behind a solid speed. He can give this a big shake even with the weight. RITRATTO was a touch disappointing in the Balaklava Cup when 5th behind Winning Partner, but his previous effort behind Second Slip in the Leon Macdonald Stakes was very good. STREET TOUGH had good support when 4th in the Wylie behind Free Of Debt. He jumps up in trip and must be respected. He has Sierra Sue form which is strong for this. DON’TDREAMIT’SOVER ran well first-up behind Extra Time and should take plenty of benefit from that. HIGHLY DECORATED won the Darwin Cup before leading them up and getting tired in the Balaklava Cup. He draws to find a cheap lead here and can give them something to chase around the Parks. REGALO DI GAETANO was in the All-Star Mile three starts back and resumes. He has won first up and gets some weight relief. DEBT COLLECTOR can figure at a price.

SELECTIONS: 1. LORD VLADIVOSTOK, 3. Ritratto, 6. Street Tough

RACE 8 - 4:55PM Fleurieu Milk Company Handicap (Heat 1 Riziz Sprint Series) (1000 METRES)

VALUABLE WITNESS was good on debut beating Lomax at Murray Bridge when favourite. He draws out wide but shapes as a horse with plenty of upside and looks hard to beat first-up here. MISS DANIEL was good winning at Balaklava three starts back and has been sent out favourite at her past two in the city, the latest running 5th behind Manhatten Times. OUR DEEP AGENDA was going super last time in work and on a recent trial ahead of his return. He was runner-up behind He’s A Balter three starts back which is a solid form line. GLASS CEILING was good first-up from a break behind Summer Show at Oakbank and should enjoy the rain around Adelaide which enhances her chances. AKKACAN is honest and rarely runs a bad race. He was good behind Gaze Grise last week.

SELECTIONS: 8. VALUABLE WITNESS, 11. Miss Daniel, 7. Our Deep Agenda

RACE 9 - 5:30PM Team Grand - Join a Racing Syndicate Handicap (1250 METRES)

ECHO BOOMER was very good behind Rock The Ring last time. She maps well from the gate and has solid each-way claims here and looks over the odds. CASTLE OF KINGS was an easy winner back in class last time. He’s been freshened slightly, back in trip and does draw wide. OCEAN REWARD races well when she crosses the border and was good behind Holt at Moe last start. She draws a tricky barrier but has appeal. SO YOU CAN was well fancied but plain behind Thrill Kill last time. He was second-up and does draw to run an improved race. MAYAN was a winner at his only start here and stuck on well behind Thrill Kill last time. ZIAVERA has a handy record and should get a good run here from a middle gate. ROCK HARBOUR isn’t far away. HEARTY LASS has a good second-up record.

SELECTIONS: 3. ECHO BOOMER, 9. Castle Of Kings, 4. Ocean Reward
