Minimum Wage Rate

 Note: The minimum weekly wage rates set out below are those applicable as at the date of this Agreement.  The minimum wage rates are subject to adjustment from time to time at the direction of Thoroughbred Racing S.A. Limited, and this Schedule shall be deemed to be amended accordingly.

The minimum weekly wage rates for Apprentices as at the date of this Agreement are:-

   NOTES:           

(1)                 All Apprentices are to receive one (1) full clear day off per week.

(2)                 Any time worked in excess of 40 hours per week shall constitute overtime and will be paid for at the rate of time and a half for the first two hours and double time thereafter.

(3)                 $84 per week is to be deducted for full board & lodging.

(4)                 The Race Day Allowance is payable to the Apprentice in respect of each day on which the Apprentice performs duties of a strapper at a race meeting.  Each such attendance by the Apprentice at a race meeting –

(a)             is deemed to constitute a minimum of 3 hours of work, and

(b)             the deemed minimum of 3 hours or the actual time worked, whichever is the greater, shall be counted as being part of the Apprentice’s working week.
