STRANGLES CASE CONFIRMED

TRSA Stewards advise that tests taken from a thoroughbred horse located on a Port Lincoln property have confirmed Strangles infection.
The property on which this horse is located is on Western Approach Road, Port Lincoln, a property known as Grayview Stud, operated by Licensed Trainer Ms. A. Morrison. The principal, as required, through her own Veterinary Surgeon, had notified PIRSA of the infection.

Thoroughbred Racing SA Limited in consultation with the Australian Trainer’s Assocation (SA Branch) has altered the $32,000 Rating 0-94 Handicap 1600 metres on Saturday 21 August 2010 at Allan Scott Park, to a $50,000 Open Handicap 1600 metres.

Thoroughbred Racing SA - the controlling body for horseracing in South Australia - is saddened by the death of another horse in a road accident this morning.
The incident did not occur at a licensed training facility; however, the trainers involved are both licensed by Thoroughbred Racing SA and based at its Morphettville headquarters.

The multi-million dollar transformation of the Gawler racecourse will be officially unveiled TODAY (July 14), marking the start of a new era for horse racing in South Australia.
The Hon Mike Rann MP, Premier of South Australia, will join Member for Light, Tony Piccollo, to officially open the course and unveil a celebratory plaque before a full day of racing on the new track.

South Australian racing clubs are being given the opportunity to access a million dollars in funding for capital projects.
Thoroughbred Racing SA - the controlling body for horseracing in South Australia - has sent letters to clubs throughout the State inviting applications for Captial Development Grants Funding.
Historic Agreement for Murray Bridge Racing Club

Plans for a multi-million dollar racecourse, equine precinct and 3500-home residential development at Murray Bridge are another step closer following the signing of a joint venture agreement.
Murray Bridge Racing Club and Thoroughbred Racing SA have signed the agreement with leading Adelaide developer Burke Urban, with racing at the new track proposed to start within the next two years.
