Following Race 4 at Port Lincoln today, Tuesday, 2 March, TRSA Stewards received a submission from Mr. D. Carrison, the Trainer of ALLIES GOLD, which raced in winkers in today’s event, requesting permission to remove the winkers and for the filly to race in blinkers in Race 3 at Port Lincoln on Thursday, 4 March 2010.

Major Boost for Kangaroo Island Cup Carnival

The Cooper’s Kangaroo Island Cup Carnival – one of the iconic events on South Australia’s racing calendar – has received a major boost with the announcement by Thoroughbred Racing SA that the meeting is to become a TAB event from 2011 onwards.

AMENDED JUMPING SCHEDULE, TRIAL DATES & AMENDMENT 16 to RACING SEASON 2009-10 13 & 25 MACH

Thoroughbred Racing SA and the South Australian Racing Clubs wish to announce the revised 2010 jumping race programme.

Extra jumping races have been added as follows. 13th March race day at Oakbank a $30,000 Steeple 3250m and on 25th March at Mount Gambier a $12,000 Hurdle 3050m. Please note these changes will not appear in the February Calendar due to these amendment missing the publishing deadlines.

In addition the first Hurdle & Steeple trials for the season will be held at Oakbank on Monday 1st March 2010 commencing at 2 pm. This is an amendment to those shown in the January & February Calendars (previously advertised as Friday 5th March).

CLUBS GIVEN OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE IN $1M FUNDING

South Australian racing clubs are being given the opportunity to access a million dollars in funding for capital projects.

Thoroughbred Racing SA - the controlling body for horseracing in South Australia - has sent letters to clubs throughout the State inviting applications for Captial Development Grants Funding.

Historic Agreement for Murray Bridge Racing Club

Plans for a multi-million dollar racecourse, equine precinct and 3500-home residential development at Murray Bridge are another step closer following the signing of a joint venture agreement.

Murray Bridge Racing Club and Thoroughbred Racing SA have signed the agreement with leading Adelaide developer Burke Urban, with racing at the new track proposed to start within the next two years.

AMENDMENTS TO DATES & VENUE - Amendment 15 Racing Dates Season 2009-10

Due to the AFL’s scheduling of the Adelaide/Port Adelaide match, TRSA has announced that Super Saturday on 1 May will be transferred to Super Sunday on Sunday 2 May, 2010 at Allan Scott park Morphettville.

As a result of the Super Sunday move the Millicent Racing Club meeting scheduled for Sunday 2 May has now been set down for Saturday 1 May 2010 to be held at Mount Gambier.  Prizemoney has been increased for this meeting, as advertised in the The Races publication. SUPER SATURDAY CHANGED TO SUPER SUNDAY

South Australia’s richest racing day – Super Saturday – is on the move.

Due to the AFL’s scheduling of the Adelaide /Port Adelaide match on the afternoon of Saturday 1st May, Thoroughbred Racing SA and the South Australian Jockey Club have announced that Super Saturday will now become Super Sunday on 2nd May 2010 at Allan Scott Park Morphettville.
