Lincoln Moore's Murray Bridge Preview

BEST BET: NAKHEEL (Race 6)

EACH-WAY: BOLSONARO (Race 4)

VALUE: YEELANNA (Race 3)

RACE 1 - 12:10PM Carlton Draught Three-Years-Old and Over Maiden Plate (1400 METRES)

THE MARKLE SPARKLE hasn’t raced since March when thrown in the deep end behind Ecumenical in the Clare Lindop Stakes at Morphettville. She was runner-up behind So Bene at Murray Bridge first-up from a spell and ran through the line well in a recent Morphettville jump out but has been easy since markets opened. FRIENDLY GHOST was good making ground from a long way back behind Sicilian Witness at Balaklava. He stays at 1400m but should be right in the mix. CASSOWARY has form around the smart Mac ‘N’ Cheese and worked hard before getting into the wrong part of the track behind Sicilian Witness at Balaklava. She’s been the one punters have gone for early. EIGHT RUBIES is showing some ability and was OK when 3rd behind Spelman at Balaklava last start. APACHE STAR was placed at Kilmore and wasn’t far away behind Manhatten Times last start.

SELECTIONS: 11. THE MARKLE SPARKLE, 3. Friendly Ghost, 12. Cassowary

RACE 2 - 12:45PM Magic MIllions Three-Years-Old and Over Maiden Plate (1400 METRES)

Tricky race and happy to stay out. AMERICAN TROUBLE has handy form in a race lacking depth. He ran well behind Scenic Host at Bordertown before running 4th behind Another Free Glass, beaten 4.5 lengths at Balaklava last start and the winner has run well in city grade since. NIREK’S LAD has finished 5th at both runs at Balaklava. He hasn’t been beaten a long way and can measure-up despite a sticky barrier. Stablemate GWAIHIR is on debut for Ryan Balfour and finished 5th in a recent Morphettville trial and will need to lift on a recent jump-out. AQUABOY wasn’t beaten far on debut and should improve, DREAMTIME WARRIOR has jumped out OK the early money has been for RED ROOF.

SELECTIONS: 7. AMERICAN TROUBLE, 6. Nirek’s Lad, 1. Aquaboy

RACE 3 - 1:20PM Fibretrack Three-Years-Old and Over Maiden Plate (1000 METRES)

YEELANNA had handy form before a break around the likes of Zoist and Deep Speed who have gone on to better things. She was runner-up behind Lady Dunmore at Gawler back in September and she’s jumped out well enough to give this a shake first-up for David Jolly. Bookies opened as much as $14 but that didn’t last long. KILLER BLONDE won a Morphettville trial before she was well in the market but failed on a heavy track at Gawler. FIGHTING MCLAREN was placed at Clare on debut behind Bignota and has won a Morphettville trial for his return. WITCHEL has been threatening to win a maiden placed at three of 13 starts, WHERE’S MY LUNCH has trialled nicely behind Tavikat at Morphettville and wears the blinkers.

SELECTIONS: 11. YEELANNA, 6. Killer Blonde, 2. Fighting McLaren

RACE 4 - 1:55PM Festival Hire Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate (Heat 2 Rebel Raider Series) (1200 METRES)

Getting on a better surface and bigger track should really suit BOLSONARO who was OK second-up from a break when 4th behind Miss Daniel at Balaklava. She resumed in the Lightning Stakes and was placed at Listed level last campaign. This looks her chance. TAVIKAT was very good in the Listed Sires’ Produce last start running 4th behind Biscayne Bay and was placed behind Karacasu at his previous. He’s a Morphettville trial winner and looks a big danger and punters were quick snap up the black figures on offer. CALLA DREAM had support at big odds behind Miss Daniel at Balaklava on debut, OUR SHINKO made good ground from a long way back behind Manhatten Dreams at Murray Bridge last time and has each-way appeal.

SELECTIONS: 8. BOLSONARO, 6. Tavikat, 9. Calla Dream

RACE 5 - 2:30PM Riverscape Food & Wine Christmas Cup - 5th December Benchmark 62 Handicap (Heat 7 NJT Series) (2000 METRES)

He’s got plenty of weight, but EXALTED FIRE was good enough to carry 61kg to victory at Balaklava two runs back and then followed that up with a good effort running 3rd behind Classy Joe at Morphettville. He has solid each-way appeal. CAPRICORN RIDGE was an easy Ballarat winner four starts back and followed that with two solid efforts in Melbourne. His latest behind Exalted Ambition was OK after getting back and he maps well from the barrier. LOLLIELUCAS was a good winner second-up before being specked at a price and getting back behind Classy Joe in town last time. PLAISIR stuck on well after leading when 2nd behind Aussie Sojourn at Gawler last start, ROYAL BOWER was runner-up behind Keysor at Gawler two starts back and wasn’t beaten far behind Back Pocket at Balaklava last time.

SELECTIONS: 1. EXALTED FIRE, 2. Capricorn Ridge, 4. Lollielucas

RACE 6 - 3:05PM Carlton Draught Murray Bridge Gold Cup - 15th October!! Class Two Handicap (1600 METRES)

Looks the perfect race for NAKHEEL who has a good record here and made good ground from the rear when runner-up behind Wurlies Lastchance here last time out. She jumps from the 1200m straight to the mile, draws well and looks a clear top pick. MALINONG CLUB came from well back to win at Balaklava three starts back and drops in class after chasing home Melody Man at Morphettville on the weekend. NATIVE BLUE was a Warracknabeal winner two starts back and ran well at Gawler last time but is dropping back in distance. BACK POCKET was backed from a double figure price to beat Masaru Warrior at Balaklava last time, SMART PROMISE comes out of the same race and was a Balaklava winner in June, LOVE VENUS was good here behind Marina last start.

SELECTIONS: 5. NAKHEEL, 3. Malinong Club, 1. Native Blue

RACE 7 - 3:40PM Empower Your Future with MAS Benchmark 62 Handicap (1000 METRES)

Solid betting race with a host of chances. SILVER ON RED was beaten first-up by Grand Host before he jogged in last start at Balaklava when he jumped straight to the lead and never looked in danger. He draws wide but looks the one to beat if he gains a start. GRAND HOST was impressive on a heavy track at Balaklava before chasing home Silver On Red last start. He is sure to be right in the mix here. RUSTY HALO made it two wins on the bounce beating Akkacan (and Lohn Ranger who won in Saturday class last weekend) and draws a sticky gate but must be respected. THREE TEARS defeated Silver On Red here back in January and then came back here to beat Brimarvi Rooboy. She then ran well behind Larkham at Morphettville. That’s very good form for this. ALL IN WAR is on the quick back up after chasing home Lohn Ranger at Morphettville on the weekend, his form has been solid since coming to SA, he’s just finding it hard to win. DIVENIRE hasn’t raced since he was beaten just under six lengths behind Beau Rossa at Morphettville. That looks solid form for this. MAY’S WEST was a Gawler winner two starts back before running favourite behind Wurlies Lastchance last time. WOTUWANT ran two good races in city class before being well beaten behind Picargo last time.

SELECTIONS: 14. SILVER ON RED, 3. Grand Host, 1. Rusty Halo

RACE 8 - 4:15PM Irongate Benchmark 54 Handicap (1200 METRES)

Another very competitive race to finish with. PIVOTAL FORCE gains a start here and a repeat of his latest effort behind Preakness at Morphettville on the Parks would be right in the finish here. He draws a good gate and has strong appeal. Fellow emergency SCARLET RIVER resumes on the back of a Port Augusta win and won a recent Morphettville trial. ZOUSTORM was runner-up behind Harbouring at Balaklava before defeating that horse last time, CALYPSO STORM wasn’t beaten far behind Wurlies Lastchance here last start and was runner-up behind Brimarvi Rooboy here three runs back. LADY FOXWEDGE is a watch. She’s a locally bred mare and half-sister to Stella Lante who was with Scott Brunton and won a Hobart maiden last October and is first-up for Nicole Bruggemann while MISS ARTIER is first-up for Travis Doudle here and has trialled OK. POLLYANNA has been backed at a price.

SELECTIONS: 16. PIVOTAL FORCE, 17. Scarlet River, 4. Zoustorm
