RACE 1 - 1:40PM Strath Small Engines Colts, Geldings & Entires Maiden Plate (1100 METRES)
KORUTO returns from Victoria where he’s placed at all three runs this time in. He was $1.95 into $1.60 at Balaklava last September and failed to beat one home. He draws an inside gate and has Kayla Crowther. AVOSTAR is on debut for Scott Westover and was placed at Wyong in June last year. He was punched out to win a Morphettville jump-out recently and must be kept safe. PROMESA D’ORO could be an improver second-up.

RACE 2 - 2:15PM Springfield Farm Fillies & Mares Maiden Plate (1100 METRES)
NORDIC LASS ran well when chasing home an impressive Miss Mucinni at Murray Bridge. She draws well and looks hard to beat here. A BIT RACEY was good two starts back, running second behind Spiriting, then backed that up with a solid effort behind Virtue at Morphettville. SQUIZZY MIZZY was in the market on debut and narrowly missed behind Hi Smokey at Naracoorte, but this race shapes harder. SELLIX loves running a place but rarely wins with 12 placings from 20 and is still a maiden. GYPSY CROWN trialled well before a handy debut at Stawell, running fourth behind Yulong Sovereign. JUST JAZZ trialled well behind Who Runs The World at Oakbank at her second trial. She draws wide but has Todd Pannell.

RACE 3 - 2:50PM Milang Caravan Park Maiden Plate (1350 METRES)
A couple of these probably shouldn’t be maidens. WITCHEL has been runner-up at three runs in SA for Sam Burford. She draws a sticky gate but Todd Pannell takes the ride and gets the top pick. ASHADY AMBER was $2.10 into $1.80 but got back and never had a crack at them behind Air Time at Naracoorte. Where there is smoke there is usually fire with the Dennis O’Leary stable and wouldn’t shock to see her bounce back. ANGRY ANT had specking at a big price from $91-$61 and wasn’t beaten far behind Zero Inn at Morphettville last time. He draws an inside gate here. LADY AWARD was sent out favourite and was OK at Clare last time but she’d obviously shown enough at her previous trainer to have gone around at Moonee Valley in February. LADY ADELE has been placed at three of five and trialled well for this, while PRINCE SAIYAN was placed here three starts back and could be an improver.

RACE 4 - 3:25PM Roadside Services and Solutions Benchmark 58 Handicap (1100 METRES)
Good, even race. FABULOUS FLIPPER has a great record here and was runner-up behind Neodium three starts back before a game run behind Appalachian in town. Those form lines are hard to ignore in this sort of class and she has three wins and seven placings from 18 starts on her home track. ANNIKA was a Morphettville Parks winner two starts back before a fair effort their last time. She has won here. BRIMARVI ROOBOY was a good winner over Calypso Storm at Murray Bridge last time and has a sound overall record. JUSTA JILLAROO is a speedy type and was impressive first-up from a spell at Gawler before two honest efforts at KI. She’ll take some running down from an inside gate with Jess Eaton to ride. GENERAL MINT loves it here and has never finished further back than second in all three starts here on his home track. He maps to get a nice run. MISS ARTIER has an even better record here with three wins from five starts, and wasn’t beaten far behind Justica in city grade last time out. RANGER CEE JAY was a Penola winner before a handy effort at Clare last time.

RACE 5 - 4:00PM South Coast Marine and Caravan Upholstery Benchmark 58 Handicap (Heat 4 Provincial Super Series) (2050 METRES)
Good staying race with a youngster on the up taking on some older horses with decent form lines. REINVIGORATE comes out of the Lord Reims and was far from disgraced when sixth behind Tralee Rose. She was only beaten 1.7 lengths behind the fourth horse, Farooq, who won his next start, and her previous run in the Strathalbyn Cup when second was very good. MR POCKET made good ground first-up behind Mavette at Murray Bridge. He has accepted in a lot of races recently and is sure to measure up here if he’s going to be a genuine Derby horse. ANOTHER WHINE looks better the further he goes and he was good winning at Naracoorte, but this is a rise in class. SHEBRINGZIT has a good record with a win a two seconds from three starts here and she’s back in class on last time behind Struck By in the Morphettville Guineas. She draws wide but has upside. LOVE IN THE CITY brings some handy Victorian form over the border, while TUFF CAT ran well behind Exalted Beast at Balaklava last time and that form has been franked since.

RACE 6 - 4:35PM Northpoint Fleurieu Class One Handicap (1200 METRES)
GREY VITALITY was a good Morphettville winner two starts back, beating No Strings, before running down the track at Gawler back in January. She will be more effective over a touch further. WRITTEN IN HISTORY was a good Warrnambool winner last start and that form should measure up well in this class. FIRE THUNDER is a former Victorian first-up in SA for Travis Doudle. She has the benefit of a recent trial and won a recent Morphettville jump-out. BETTER was a good winner at Balaklava two starts back and ran OK behind Casino Seventeen in city class last time. ALPHAEUS and HI SMOKEY both come off maiden wins.

RACE 7 - 5:10PM Goolwa Hotel Benchmark 54 Handicap (Heat 2 Autumn Series) (1350 METRES)
Looks a very good race for MAGIC DEE on her home deck here. She has placed at her past couple, the latest behind Neodium at Morphettville on the Parks, and the winner franked that form on the weekend. She draws a nice gate and looks very hard to beat. AFRICAN AWESOME is a filly with a future and won at big odds at Murray Bridge back in November. She is worth keeping safe if she gains a start. CARBONE has a good record here on his home track and took good ground off Sedante at Murray Bridge last time. CLEARY ADONIS could be an improver third up from a spell here, while NANAMU wasn’t beaten far behind Heavy Rotation at Morphettville on the Parks last time.
