Lincoln Moore's Murray Bridge Preview

BEST BET: INVESTITURE (Race 5)

EACH-WAY: PLUNGER CHARLIE (Race 7)

VALUE: DIHHI (Race 8)

RACE 1 - 12:51PM Magic Millions / SABOIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate (1000 METRES)

Hard to line these up and a few that have raced have had chances. I’m going with the unraced horses. STARSPANGLED SAGA looked pretty sharp winning a recent Strathalbyn jump-out and draws a nice barrier for his debut. HARD RANSOM has had four recent jump-outs but looked pretty good winning his latest at Strathalbyn. COMEON SCRUFF was in the same jump-out and finished second but wasn’t really pushed out. A BIT RACEY was beaten for early speed and wasn’t far away in a recent Morphettville jump-out. Of the raced brigade SCOTCH ON THE ROCK looks suited here after chasing home Outlaw’s Revenge and Echoes In Eternity at his past couple. That’s strong form for a maiden like this. MORPHETT ROAD led them up and looked to have his chance at Oakbank, while FACTORED IN had some specking at a price on debut at Bordertown.

SELECTIONS: STARSPANGLED SAGA, Hard Ransom, A Bit Racey

RACE 2 - 1:26PM Bryan Guy Memorial / SABOIS Four-Year-Old & Over Maiden Plate (1000 METRES)

SILVER ON RED has plenty of talent and did cross the line first before losing on protest last time out. He’s drawn perfectly and going to be hard to beat. EFFORTKAT is a leading chance here after being placed her past two, the latest behind Bolt B, but drops back in trip. SCARLET RIVER looks right in this on the back of a recent jump-out when she came wide and ran through the line strongly. SWEET DISTRACTION is a 10-start former Victorian maiden who is now with Kristi Evans and he looked pretty forward for this when winning a Strathalbyn jump-out.

SELECTIONS: SILVER ON RED, Effortkat, Scarlett River

RACE 3 - 2:01PM Carlton Draught / SABOIS Three-Year-Old & Over Maiden Plate (1400 METRES)

UNDERSTATEMENT is a former New South Wales galloper from the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott stable who was $3.40 into $2.60 at his SA debut when down the track behind La Rapide. Won’t find one much easier than this. JUSTEDEE has been placed at four of 15 starts and looks well placed in a race like. The blinkers go back on here and although back in trip looks right in this. JAKAZONE can run into the multiples.

SELECTIONS: UNDERSTATEMENT, Justedee, Jakazone

RACE 4 - 2:36PM AM & ME Langsford Plasterboard Contractors / SABOIS Three-Year-Old & Over Maiden Plate (1400 METRES)

INVESTITURE was a good trial winner before starting favourite here in Saturday grade when he was OK after racing in a handy spot behind runners and running through the line OK behind Bolt By. This is a drop in class and although he’s drawn wide, getting out to 1400m looks ideal. SUPER LOOKA showed solid improvement getting out to 1200m last time out and should also appreciate the 1400m here. EVER ONWARD could be an improver here. He hasn’t been far away in three starts and gets the blinkers on for the first time. YURI ROYALE has had four jump-outs ahead of his debut but looked one-paced working home OK last time at Strathalbyn. FREE OF SIN ran well behind Rocabella at Morphettville three starts back and was tried in Melbourne. EXALTED FIRE was runner-up at Strathalbyn on debut and draws a barrier to control the speed and could run a cheeky race.

SELECTIONS: INVESTITURE, Super Looka, Ever Onward

 RACE 5 - 3:11PM Longs Sand & Metal Benchmark 58 Handicap (1000 METRES)

BRIMARVI ROOBOY has been placed at four of seven starts and his fresh record is very good. He draws a middle gate and is sure to take some beating in a race like this. SIDESTREET won his only start this track and trip but draws out and has plenty of weight. THREE TEARS is a promising filly who was a good winner here coming from off the speed to run down Silver On Red. That form looks good here and she has jumped out well since. FABULOUS FLIPPER is two from five this track and trip and was impressive winning two starts back in Saturday grade before starting favourite when run down at Strathalbyn. The claim brings her into the race. ACTIVE is a former Victorian in good hands with Jon O’Connor and was a Horsham winner on debut. He was punched out to finish second behind Tully’s Gold in a recent Morphettville jump-out and could run a cheeky race. ZEGRESTO defeated Sellix here two starts back and has some appeal down in the weights.

SELECTIONS: BRIMARVI ROOBOY, Three Tears, Sidestreet

RACE 6 - 3:46PM Rainforest Retreat Murray Bridge 4.5 Star B&B Benchmark 54 Handicap (1600 METRES)

Jeff Searle has two runners here. GOOD GIRL BELLA looks perfectly placed. She was well backed from $5.50 to $3.40 before leading throughout to win at Stawell last time. She draws a gate and is going to take some beating here. Stablemate FENCELINE broke his maiden status at Penola last time and is sure to be thereabouts. SOWPODS doesn’t win out of turn and has been unplaced in all three start here but did run well when runner-up behind Crown Harmonium at Oakbank last time. WOULDA THOUGHT SO has been around the mark and this is a sharp drop in class on last time when he wasn’t beaten far behind Don’tdreamit’sover (who would be in the red here).

SELECTIONS: GOOD GIRL BELLA, Sowpods, Woulda Thought So

RACE 7 - 4:21PM Murdoch Insurance Brokers Benchmark 58 Handicap (1800 METRES)

Good race on paper with a few chances. PLUNGER CHARLIE didn’t do a lot it two starts through the winter before resuming at Terang when he was well backed to lead throughout before winning by five lengths. He draws a gate here and is sure to take some beating. MASTER OF ZERPRISE has won three races over 1600m or further (two of them here) and he was strong when beating Tuff Cat at Strathalbyn last time. He’ll make his own luck from the gate and must be respected. GO BOO BOO broke his maiden over 1800m here last time out beating Lollielucas. That form reads well, with that horse winning at Oakbank last week. The McEvoy stable saddles up two here. RECOGNISE got the job down at Oakbank two starts back before failing in city grade last time, while FOX D’OR defeated Allayez at Gawler back in May but drifted first-up and ran accordingly. The latter is out in trip but needs to lift. IT’S MAGIC can run a forward race here on his win two starts back.  LOVE FROM LUCY draws out but boxed on well at Oakbank last time.

SELECTIONS: PLUNGER CHARLIE, Master Of Zerprise, Recognise

RACE 8 - 4:56PM Murraylands Fire & Safety Class Two Handicap (1400 METRES)

VIDUKA has been placed at eight (two wins) of his 14 starts and he made ground behind Second Slip here last time. That form looks very good with that Will Clarke-trained horse winning at Caulfield on Saturday. Viduka draws a gate and gets into this well with the claim. TRUMPSTA is a former Victorian who narrowly missed when beaten by Carbone at Strathalbyn last time. He’ll get a good run from the inside gate. FREE HAND won well at Strathalbyn back in trip three starts go and made some ground behind Fight For Freedom at Gawler. The Dazzling Damsel formline from two starts back is good for this. MAGIC REWARD finished off strongly behind Gigglon at Penola last time and is looking for the 1400m. DIHHI ran well behind Magic Dee at Strathalbyn last time and draws a nice gate. POSSUM BORN has been racing well and was a good Balaklava winner three starts back. She should run well here despite a wide gate, while WICKED WHITT is another who will win a race shortly.

SELECTIONS: VIDUKA, Magic Reward, Dihhi

IMAGE: Lincoln Moore is keen on Silver On Red in race two at Murray Bridge today.
