Lincoln Moore's Oakbank Preview

BEST BET: SHE’S KRUPT (Race 1)

EACH-WAY: LIBERTY POWER (Race 6)

VALUE: MARZIE GIRL (Race 4)

RACE 1 - 2:40PM O’Leary Walker Wines Class One Handicap (1050 METRES)

SHE’S KRUPT is lightly-raced and has upside. She should find this a big drop in class on last time behind Exalted Queen. She maps well from barrier four and this looks a very winnable race. NIC’S SECRET has been around the mark at three of four starts this campaign and should be hard to beat despite a sticky gate. ROCKATANSKY was a Port Augusta winner back in July and ran OK first-up behind Rustydustysunshine. He has claims in this sort of race and will be finishing off strongly late. DIVINE SUCCESS is trained on track and comes off a good Port Lincoln win at a price.

SELECTIONS: SHE’S KRUPT, Nic’s Secret, Rockatansky

RACE 2 - 3:15PM Kloses Supermarkets Benchmark 54 Handicap (1100 METRES)

Open race. TURF TAPPER has been great this campaign for Shayne Cahill. He’s had 12 starts for three wins and four placings this year and if he could grab one more it would lift the roof off the Oakbank grandstand. He’s never raced here but was trained here for a long time and is sure to know his way around. ISSARA was very good first-up when winning at Morphettville and his latest effort behind Annika was OK. SMART ALICK ran OK behind Ultimate Victory at Murray Bridge last time. CENTRE SCOOTA was good first-up from a spell behind Issara before being well backed and getting well back in running behind American Storm last time.

SELECTIONS: TURF TAPPER, Centre Scoota, Issara

RACE 3 - 3:50PM Adcock Real Estate / SABOIS Maiden Plate (1400 METRES)

RECOGNISE is a 12-start maiden but has been placed four times and will strip fitter for a handy first-up run behind Wild Imagination at Murray Bridge. TANJA’S DREAM has been placed at both runs and is sure to be right in the mix from the inside gate. DISSOLVABLE was good at Gawler, running second behind Applied, and did finish off well behind Zip Akeed at Balaklava last time. He’s had a few chances and is back in trip. KRUPTONITE has only been placed three times in 26 starts but one of those was last time at odds behind Mrs Mourinho at Strathalbyn. AQAARED can figure in a race like this.

SELECTIONS: RECOGNISE, Tanja’s Dream, Dissolvable

RACE 4 - 4:25PM Sugar Financial Services / SABOIS Four-Year-Old & Up Maiden Plate (1100 METRES)

A race with a serious lack of depth and recent form. MARZIE GIRL was in the market on debut behind She’s Krupt at Balaklava before being beaten 10.3 lengths at Bordertown. She draws a gate and does have the blinkers on for the first time. SISTER DEE is trained on track and has been placed at four of her past five starts, the latest behind Magnus Man at Gawler over 2112m back in July. She’s going to need further but could run a cheeky race at nice. JUST CHEMISTRY was in the market at KI on debut earlier in the year and did show some speed in a Strathalbyn jump-out a month ago, when not knocked around late. VEXATIOUS BOY was only beaten three lengths at $101 at Murray Bridge last time out, while COMPANY has jumped out OK for a race like this.

SELECTIONS: MARZIE GIRL, Sister Dee, Just Chemistry

RACE 5 - 5:00PM Neutrog Biological Fertilisers Benchmark 54 Handicap (1400 METRES)

VALLIANO defeated Brimarvi Rooboy at Murray Bridge three starts back and ran well at Morphettville, beaten 1.3 lengths behind He Will Boom. His latest behind Ice Crusher was OK for a race like this and he looks hard to beat despite the big weight. CARBONE was very unlucky two back at Murray Bridge behind Exalted Lauretta but never looked likely – off the bit and under pressure a long way out – at Strathalbyn behind Exalted Traveller. He draws a good gate and would take beating on his best. FAREWELL GRETA looks pretty well graded in a race like this. She was good behind Masterati at Morphettville two back at big odds and stuck on well behind Bossy Britches at Penola last time. Michael O’Leary’s horses usually handle it around the tight-turning Oakbank track. MOARI MAGIC is the big watch here. He won his only start here, that was more than two years ago, but his recent efforts have been OK for a race like this. He was runner-up behind Rapid Raiser at Gawler five starts back.

SELECTIONS: VALLIANO, Carbone, Maori Magic

RACE 6 - 5:35PM Emmetts Benchmark 52 Handicap (1050 METRES)

LIBERTY POWER draws the inside gate and was good at Naracoorte two starts back, before another solid effort after leading behind Turf Tapper at Penola. He’s going to give them something to chase here over the 1050m. RUSHWA brings the race experience here. He was placed at Morphettville behind Kirinia two back, which is good form for a race like this, and he was only 2.7 lengths behind Exalted Gold last time. The wide gate is the main worry. AZZURO BIANCO could be the big improver here. Now with Grant Young, his best would certainly be good enough for a race like this and he was only three lengths behind Call Me Shamus last time in town. THE STOCKBROKER is a former Queenslander who has had three runs in SA for Barry Brook. He’s trained on track and must be respected. The blinkers go off MISS CATASTROPHI.

SELECTIONS: LIBERTY POWER, Rushwa, Azzuro Bianco

RACE 7 - 6:10PM Qube Logistics / SABOIS+ Class One Plate (1900 METRES)

STAN THE CADDY gets out from a mile to 1900m and gets his chance to get back in the winners’ circle. He was placed at Morphettville behind Masterati three starts back and wasn’t far away behind Diamond Tycoon last time. FAST DEALER looked to have his chance at Balaklava behind Shebringzit over 2200m but is back in trip and nicely draw. CAPRICORN RIDGE is lightly-raced and was too strong for Regal Triumph at Strath last time. He’s back in trip but looks right in this. SONAR ECHO is trained on track and ran well behind Peladera at Penola two back, but was well beaten last time at Strath in the race won by CAPRICORN RIDGE.

SELECTIONS: STAN THE CADDY, Fast Dealer, Capricorn Ridge

RACE 8 - 6:40PM E-Cycle Solutions Class Two Handicap (1400 METRES)

SHARPLY ATTIRED was placed at Morphettville and on the Parks track before she was beaten 4.7 lengths behind Annika last time. Again drawn wide, but that form is good for this. MALVADO was runner-up behind Motell at Morphettville last Friday and is also drawn wide but can make his own luck early. ZOUSTORM was runner-up at Bordertown two back and then beaten 2.2 lengths when fourth behind Munster at Gawler last Saturday. He’s on the quick turnaround but looks right in this on that form. TRIVAGO GIRL was a Port Lincoln winner in October and her run behind THE PUGILIST last time out was good.

SELECTIONS: SHARPLY ATTIRED, Malvado, Zoustorm
