Lincoln Moore's Saturday Preview

BEST BET: SO YOU CAN (Race 1)

EACH-WAY: AMBIDAZZLE (Race 9)

ROUGHIE: ENBARR (Race 5)

RACE 1 - 12:01PM Dominant Handicap (Heat 2 Rebel Raider Series) (1250 METRES)

Interesting race to kick off the day with a few of these no doubt expected to ultimately contest better races over the border. SO YOU CAN carries a spruik and was $2.70 into $2.35 first-up last start over 1100m when raced like he was desperate for more ground for a 3.1-length fourth behind Celestine. He won impressively here in May and is the top pick. CROWN MINT was nominated for the McNeil at Caulfield but kept in Adelaide. He won at Sandown in his first campaign before two good runs when second in the G3 Breeders behind Ecumenical and third in the G3 Sires’ Produce behind Ringbolt. He’s well weighted with the claim and the blinkers are off, so expect him to run a forward race. TRIDENT is another former Kiwi debuting for Michael Hickmott, who is on fire. He was only beaten three lengths in the Group 3 2yo Classic at Pukekura in February and was an Ellerslie winner on debut. ZEPPA ran well and Flemington on debut before winning at Bendigo last month. ULTIMATE VICTORY dropped sharply in class when he came off the speed to win at Naracoorte but this is a lot harder. Watch SO YOU CAN’s latest win HERE.

SELECTIONS: SO YOU CAN, Crown Mint, Zeppa

RACE 2 - 12:36PM Furphy Handicap (1550 METRES)

Open race. There was plenty to like about the return of PUISSANCE DUSOLEIL when she found trouble before running on smartly, beaten 3.2 lengths behind PEARL BANDIT. She’s fitter, drawn perfectly on the Parks and looks well placed here. LORD VLADIVOSTOK is another Kiwi on debut for Michael Hickmott. He went around a $30 chance when beaten almost 20 lengths in the NZ Derby last time out in February. Has won two (placed two) of seven starts, the stable is airborne and he jumped out pretty smartly recently. PEARL BANDIT has been solid this time in and was good defeating Conconi last time. That horse has ran well since. He draws to get a lovely run in transit. ALLUSION is first-up since February and has a good record this track. He trialled OK but will probably be looking for a touch further. ICE GHOST scored a big odds first-up before a return to his best last time when he was on speed and only run down late behind Tubby Two Tracks.  EXALTED TRAVELLER will make his own luck despite the wide gate. Watch PUISSANCE DUSOLEIL’s latest win HERE.

SELECTIONS: PUISSANCE DUSOLEIL, Lord Vladivostok, Pearl Bandit

RACE 3 - 1:11PM TAB Handicap (Heat 8 NJT Series) (1250 METRES)

One on the rise coming up against a few already proven horses here. THE DIFFERENCE is a promising horse with two wins (and two seconds) from his five starts, He had a perfect run when he was a soft winner over MAY BE FATE last time but there is significantly more depth in this race. SILVERHAWK has won three of his past four and was scratched from a wide gate in Melbourne for this. He settled well and charged home to win two back before leading throughout to beat Pivotal Force last time. SIGN OF USSURI has a good record and has been freshened for this. He draws well and will be right in the mix despite being well back in trip. DANGER DEAL doesn’t run bad races, he just doesn’t win often. He was again solid behind SILVERHAWK last and will get a nice run here. PERFECT COMMAND has a great record (9: 2-3-2) this track and draws the inside. MAY BE FATE is another racing well and gets the blinkers again. BEEOKAY doesn’t run bad race but he can prove frustrating for punters. Draws wide but has no weight on his back with claim. Watch THE DIFFERENCE’s latest win HERE.

SELECTIONS: THE DIFFERENCE, Silverhawk, Perfect Command

RACE 4 - 1:51PM Soul Growers Handicap (2250 METRES)

BERTWHISTLE has been in great form and she was solid at Flemington last time when placed behind Exemplar. She’s won three of her past four, maps well from the inside gate and will take some beating with the claim. ANDREA MANTEGNA has a good record this track and trip and was only just nailed on the line last time. He draws wide, which hasn’t helped, but must be respected. EXALTED RUTH has been runner-up her past three since beating Sign Of Ussuri here and will run well with the light weight despite a tricky wide gate. COFFEE AMOUR is ready to win and out to an ideal trip here, OURKHANI was very good winning last time but back in trip. BOX ON COLLINS races well at this track and is ready to improve, while JUST ROLLING is going super and draws to get a nice run from barrier four. Check out BERTWHISTLE’s latest win HERE.

SELECTIONS: BERTWHISTLE, Andrea Mantegna, Coffee Amour

RACE 5 - 2:31PM Adelaide Galvanising Handicap (1950 METRES)

TATALINA was racing very well at the end of last campaign and was well-supported first-up before getting back and making good ground behind ACE OF CLUBS at Murray Bridge. The extra 150m plays into her favour and the stable has made some important gear changes. KALAMON has spaced rivals twice back in class at Balaklava recently and was well backed before getting a long way back and making good ground late behind Cannot Be Serios last week. He gives the impression the 1950m will suit but he does tend to give rivals a big start. ACE OF CLUBS is going super, winning two on end before another solid effort last week when he beat all but Muntham Missile. This is a stronger race on paper but he’ll also appreciate more ground. All of SUPER SWOOP’S seven wins have been beyond 2000m. He had specking last time but was only fair. ENBARR is a watch. He’s a former Matthew Williams-trained galloper with James Dodgson, who has done a massive job with Territory Titan recently. Enbarr’s Victorian form is pretty good for a race like this, he draws a gate and likes to race on speed.

SELECTIONS: TATALINA, Enbarr, Kalamon

RACE 6 - 3:11PM AAMI Handicap (1000 METRES)

DIMAGGIO has a good record, chasing home King Of Hastings on debut before winning at Ballarat. He then came to Adelaide and was second behind Silver Lining when he got back before beating Calypso Reign, who subsequently franked that form. Drawn wide but has upside. STREETCAR STRANGER is a promising type and he ran enormous when second behind Parlophone in the Listed Lightning Stakes at big odds. He draws the inside, will get a gun run and looks to have a very bright future. VIDUKA has a handy record and raced well last campaign. He goes well this track and trip and has trialled well for his return. NATURE DEEL was scratched from last week for this. She won her only start at Balaklava and has trialled OK for her return. GUESS AGAIN ploughed through a heavy 10 to win at Warrnambool last time and her overall record is sound (24: 5-4-2).

SELECTIONS: DIMAGGIO, Streetcar Stranger, Viduka

RACE 7 - 3:51PM Leon Macdonald Stakes (Formerly Penny Edition Stakes) (1400 METRES)

DALSAN is the class factor and if he can overcome a tricky inside gate, he’ll win. His Spring Stakes run was super when he found himself a long way back and stormed home behind Behemoth who is the Memsie favourite. He’s a class act, destined for better races, and should be too smart. RAINMOTH is a mare who will also measure up in some nice races. She was very good first-up behind Octane before another good effort up in class in the Spring Stakes. Like RAINMOTH there was a lot to like about FOX HALL in the Spring Stakes, making good ground from a long way back. He’s got plenty of upside and is a four-time winner over 1400m. DEXELATION is rock-hard fit and racing very well. There was a lot to like about his gritty Moonee Valley win last time and he’ll be in the box seat from gate two. NIPPERKIN was super coming off the speed and getting over the top of some handy types at Murray Bridge last time. MORVADA will ride the speed again. CLICK HERE to see what Leon Macdonald had to say about DALASAN during the week.

SELECTIONS: DALASAN, Rainmoth, Fox Hall

RACE 8 - 4:31PM Wills & Daniel Handicap (1300 METRES)

CHUCKY has been solid at both runs back from a long spell. He found himself a mile off the leaders before powering late behind Sonic Deed. The jump from 1100m to 1300m looks ideal and he draws well in gate four. BORN TO PLAY was very good back in class when $2 into $1.70 beating Mrs Mourinho and has been kept fresh for this. She draws out but was a pretty soft winner at Murray Bridge last time. SADENTE has been kept fresh since her good win here in July when she came between horses and won well. XINGYUN was well tried on debut before breaking his maiden with a soft win at Gawler last time and the Jon O’Connor stable is flying. SKILLED BUNCH is lightly-raced and won well at Murray Bridge in May before chasing home Really Discreet. She’ll get a gun run from the inside draw and has some appeal.

SELECTIONS: CHUCKY, Born To Play, Sadente

RACE 9 - 5:10PM Accolade Wines Handicap (1250 METRES)

AMBIDAZZLE has a good record (15: 3-4-4) and also likes the Parks track. She was spelled after being beaten 1.6 lengths behind Game Keeper here back in March but that is very good form on paper and she’s trialled smartly for her return. THE NATURAL has won two of his past five and was sent out favourite at Sandown three starts back before a soft Gawler win. He has been freshened since the Lightning Stakes but that is a strong form line for this. Stablemate ROYALTY was a winner back in class before he was run down late at Murray Bridge last time by I’m A Legend. He’ll put himself in a winnable spot from the inside gate. The third of the McEvoy team, FIELDS OF IVY, was a winner here in November and sent out favourite first-up but was only fair at Murray Bridge, though does draw a nice barrier. JUST CHIPPING AWAY doesn’t run too many bad races and got back before closing late behind Silverhawk last time. She draws a good barrier to figure. KAYSERI has been runner-up his past three but is drawn out and only has the one win from 11 starts.

SELCTIONS: AMBIDAZZLE, The Natural, Just Chipping Away
