Lincoln Moore's Saturday Preview

BEST BET: BEEOKAY (Race 10)

EACH-WAY: THE OLYMPIAN (Race 9)

VALUE: DR DEPENDABLE (Race 8)

RACE 1 - 11:20AM Winning Edge Presentations Handicap (1100 METRES)

TAKEN OFF drifted sharply in betting before winning here on debut and was then beaten 1.2 lengths behind Nasifa. He sat off the speed to beat Little Rich Boy and Thompson’s Reward before being spelled and has trialled nice for this. Wide gate a slight concern. TANKER is the big watch. He’s winless in six starts for the Maher/Eustace team but was tried at the top level in his two-year-old season. He was only 2.8 lengths off Hanseatic in a Blue Diamond Prelude before being beaten 7.15 lengths behind Tagaloa in the G1 back in February. He was only fair first-up at Moonee Valley but draws a nice gate, will appreciate getting out in trip and gets Barend Vorster. DAWN SALUTE ran well resuming and has some ability, while ATLANTIC LAD won his maiden on a heavy track. Watch TAKEN OFF's recent jump out HERE

SELECTIONS: TAKEN OFF, Tanker, Dawn Salute

RACE 2 - 11:56AM AAMI Maiden Plate (1200 METRES)

Hard to line them up. FRENCH FIELDS, a $200k yearling, was backed from $5 into $3.30 fav at Pakenham back in February but was average. She resumed as a $1.40 fav at Balaklava late last month when runner-up behind Pindaric but is worth another chance from the good gate. SHOJIKI is an interesting one. She’s had four trials over the space of almost 12 months and beat the highly rated Mileva in a Strathalbyn trial back in March. She was runner-up behind The Multiplier in a recent Balaklava trial and that horse has run well in city class since. NAKHEEL is a former NSW galloper who has had two trials here in SA for Will Clarken and improved sharply last time at Balaklava. Betting will be the best guide to her first-up chances. HARD BORDER was placed at Benalla on debut before a handy run here in Adelaide being Stan The Caddy. He’s stayed here with the Jolly stable, which is ticking along nice with a double midweek, and he trialled nicely at Balaklava. SARNIA ran well at Balaklava three back when she made ground, then only battled up in trip. She dropped back to 1200m and showed speed to beat all but Xingyun last time and can figure. JONQUEST is a son of Rebel Raider on debut for the Macdonald/Gluyas team. He looked quite forward winning a jump-out here earlier in the week. MONRAAJ has been placed at four of 10 and he worked to the line well behind Double Blue here last time.

SELECTIONS: FRENCH FIELDS, Shojiki, Hard Border

RACE 3 - 12:31PM G.H. Mumm Maiden Plate (1200 METRES)

VICTORIA QUAY is the watch on debut for the McEvoy stable. She was a $250k yearling purchase and was kept very quiet in a recent Balakava trial where the pace was solid up front. She got to the line nicely under a solid hold. Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas have a pair of debutants, PEARL DYNASTY and PIMM’S PARTY. The latter showed a good turn of speed in a jump out here on Monday and looks the pick of that pair. JIMMY WITH A DASH was scratched form Gawler for this and has shown ability. He was tried in Melbourne at the end of his last prep and the form out of that race is solid for something like this. MEADOWS YOUNG BUCK showed speed in her first campaign and was scratched from Gawler midweek but draws off the track.

SELECTIONS: VICTORIA QUAY, Pimm’s Party, Jimmy With A Dash

RACE 4 - 1:06PM Don 'Nobby' Hall Memorial Handicap (1600 METRES)

ARISTOCRATIC MISS ran OK first-up from a spell when sixth behind Nipperkin at Murray Bridge. She steps from the 1400m to 1600m which is ideal, draws nicely and gets a chance to bounce back to winning form. ANALYTICA is on the quick back-up from last week and he wasn’t far away when fourth behind Blow Torch. He drops sharply in weight and draws to get a gun run. FINAL HEARING ran well first-up from a spell, beaten just 1.6 lengths behind Left Hand Man. He’s never missed a cheque second-up and draws nicely. MORE THAN EVER ran OK first-up from a break but is probably going to need another run and a touch further before he finds his best. MONGOLIAN MARSHALL ran in a G1 in New Zealand in January but needs to improve on his two runs in SA. Watch ARISTOCRATIC MISS' recent jump out HERE

SELECTIONS: ARISTOCRATIC MISS, Analytica, Final Hearing

RACE 5 - 1:46PM Schweppes Handicap (1519 METRES)

Another open race on paper. PELOTON was backed into favourite, led them up on a solid tempo and stuck on well beaten 3.1 lengths behind Nipperkin at his Australian debut at Murray Bridge. Blinkers go off and winkers on here and he’s three wins and two placings on soft tracks. GOING GAGA has ran very well at both runs for Mick Kluske. He really hit the line strongly behind Blow Torch last week and should get a lovely smother from the inside gate. ROTHMOORE got a long way back and didn’t figure last week but the Adelaide rain this week would have been welcomed by him. He draws to get a gun run. SEBONNA looked good on debut for Peter Hardacre when he got back and stormed late on a soft track at Naracoorte. Barend Vorster jumps on Sebonna, who won in heavy going back in NSW and looks to have upside. ZERO DOUBT raced at Group 2 level in Melbourne in the autumn and strips fitter for two runs back from a spell. Stable is low-flying. STRYKE IN STYLE is racing well but his best form is on top of the ground. RAPID RAISER doesn’t run too many bad races but jumps up in class. SECRET VEGA is three from five second-up but draws a tricky gate.

SELECTIONS: PELOTON, Rothmoore, Sebonna

Race 6 - 2:26PM 36° South Beef Handicap (1200 METRES)

RULER BY CHOICE has won three of seven and was sent out favourite when resuming at Swan Hill. He came back to SA, raced on speed and was too good for Nasifa at Murray Bridge last time. Slightly sticky gate but he looks to have upside. AMBIDAZZLE has a good record with three wins and eight placings from 15 starts. She looked good winning a recent Balaklava trial and the only concern would be all her form is on good surfaces. CARLALUISA was disappointing two starts back before turning that around when she defeated Panzer Princess at Gawler. This is only a slight step up in class and she’s never missed a cheque on soft tracks. SONIC DEED was again heavily back and got the job done here last week. He draws out but is racing in good form. VON SAGA got a long way back in the race won by Ready Sunshine, but showed a brilliant turn of speed to run down Turf Tapper back in class two back and is capable in a race like this. TRIP has run well at both runs since resuming. She draws a tricky gate but is going to win a race like this. EXALTED LAURETTA ran a good race up front but draws a tricky gate.

SELECTIONS: RULER BY CHOICE, Carlaluisa, Ambidazzle

RACE 7 - 3:06PM Furphy Handicap (Heat 5 NJT Series) (1050 METRES)

OUR DEEP AGENDA was a Gawler winner three back before running second behind Puissance Dusoleil. She went to the paddock after running down the track behind Perfect Route in March and had a soft trial at Balaklava recently. He was placed on a heavy track on debut last June. NATURE DEEL is unbeaten in one run and comes out of the same trial at Balaklava won by Ambidazzle. Stablemate UNBOUNDED was a Seymour winner in November and has been kept fresh since running fourth at Ballarat on the synthetic. NICCONI PONI jumped favourite and was beaten 4.4 lengths behind Ready Sunshine. AKKACAN has good form on soft and heavy tracks and it’s worth overlooking his latest which wasn’t as bad as it reads on paper. He’ll get back but be running on. ANAMNESIS draws an inside gate and has won three of seven starts on heavy tracks.

SELECTIONS: OUR DEEP AGENDA, Akkacan, Nature Deel

RACE 8 - 3:46PM TAB Handicap (1800 METRES)

RESURGE has always had plenty of talent and was tried in good races as a three-year-old. Liked the way he got the job done first-up at a mile at Murray Bridge. He’s surely going to take benefit from the outing and 1800m looks in his favour. PAGHMAN had specking and was runner-up in the Darwin Cup earlier this month. He’s now with Will Clarken and must be respected here despite having never raced on the grass. DR DEPENDABLE looks ready to fire third-up form a break. Plenty to like about his run closing smartly late when third behind Nipperkin and jumping from the 1400m to 1800m is ideal. The claim for Teegan Voorham has him right in the mix here. HAILEYBURY MISS came from a long way back to win at Geelong last time and draws a gate, that form should stack up in this. JAGUARY is a smart horse second-up, but has drawn wide, while STAR STATUS wasn’t beaten far behind Ace Of Clubs last time. MUNTHAM MISSILE loves a heavy track and beat all but subsequent city winner Classy Joe last time at Bordertown.

SELECIONS: RESURGE, Dr Dependable, Paghman

RACE 9 - 4:26PM Fleurieu Milk Company Handicap (1600 METRES)

THE OLYMPIAN has been game at both starts, running second behind Denreklaw at Murray Bridge on debut before sticking on gamely behind Double Blue last time. The form out of that race has stood up OK and he’s a horse who has been searching for a mile, so drawing out might be a good thing late in the day. KALAMON has been super impressive, blitzing rivals at two of his past three back in class, both at Balaklava. He draws out but that might be to his advantage and he’s sure to be running on strongly. Plenty to like about the run of FLORIANO second-up when he made good ground behind Rapid Raiser. Todd Pannell riding is a strong pointer. ALLACCIATO is a former Kiwi in the in-form Michael Hickmott yard. She ran in the New Zealand Oaks in 2019 but is also first-up for 10 months, while stablemate CANNOT BE SERIOS again has plenty of weight but was only reeled in late at Naracoorte last time and loves the heavy conditions. PEWTER is another who has seen plenty of heavy tracks. He made good ground last time and draws to get a good run.

SELECTIONS: THE OLYMPIAN, Kalamon, Floriano

RACE 10 - 5:00PM Barossa Fine Foods Handicap (1200 METRES)

Keen to stay with BEEOKAY here. He got a lot further back than I expected last week before charging late behind Silverhawk. He draws a good gate, handles a heavy track and he’s fit – this will be 10th run since June. JACOBITE PRINCE is three from four on soft tracks and his form has been solid this campaign. He was a winner here five runs back, before jumping favourite, leading and knocking up late behind Left Hand Man last time. Sticky gate but he can be ridden off the speed. ROYALTY is a handy type who won well back in class and was only reeled in late by I’m A Legend last time. He draws a good barrier and won’t be far away. MAY BE FATE has run well his past couple, he draws well and the blinkers go back on, while KAYSERI has been placed at his past three. SPIRITED MATCH was placed at big odds behind Silverhawk last time out and has some good form on bottomless tracks. CANFORD has the benefit of a couple of trials back and does have some handy form on a heavy tracks. KINGSON did a big job to cover ground and win here last time. Watch BEEOKAY's latest win HERE.

SELECTIONS: BEEOKAY, Jacobite Prince, Royalty
